At Outsourcea, your privacy is our priority. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our outsourcing platform. By using our services, you agree to the terms outlined in this document.
We collect both personal and non-personal information when you register or interact with our platform. This may include:
- Name, email address, phone number
- Billing details, project data, and chat transcripts
- Portfolios, work history, and skill sets for companies and freelancers
- Payment details that companies and providers add to receive project payments, and the record of each project payment
Outsourcea offers AI-generated chat assistance to help users create project briefs, clarify queries, or support decision-making. All interactions with the AI may be stored for quality improvement and service enhancement purposes. We do not use these chats to make automated decisions without user consent.
We partner with third-party service providers and freelancers to fulfill projects. When hiring or interacting with external talent, your shared information may be disclosed only to the extent necessary for service delivery. These third parties are bound by confidentiality agreements and required to comply with data protection laws.
To help providers judge how engaged a client is, we show a provider who has sent a proposal on one of your projects:
- When you were last active on Outsourcea, as a range (today, this week, this month or not recently), never an exact time
- When you last reviewed proposals on that project, as a range, and how many times you opened their proposal
- Whether you have recently been in contact with the Outsourcea team
- Your history as a client: when you joined, projects posted, hires, email and identity verification, and your payment record (how many payments were confirmed, how quickly and how often on time you paid)
You can turn off activity sharing at any time in the Privacy section of your Preferences. Providers are then told that you keep your activity private, instead of seeing your activity, review timing, proposal views and contact with our team. Your history and payment record stay visible, because they describe your account rather than your presence.
We count views of company profiles, project pages and proposals, and how often company cards appear in our directory and search results, so companies and providers can see how they are doing. In particular:
- Views are deduplicated: one per viewer per day, or per 30 minutes for proposal views
- Profile, project and directory views are reported as totals, never as a list of who viewed (a client's views of a proposal are described in the section above)
- Views by Outsourcea staff, by automated bots and by a company's own members are not counted
- For visitors who are not signed in we use a key that changes every day, derived with a secret from the network address and browser type. We do not store the raw IP address for these statistics
- Daily totals are kept for about 13 months
Companies and providers who receive project payments add their payment details on Outsourcea: bank account details or a link to their own payment page, plus supporting documents such as a bank letter. We encrypt account numbers, routing codes and payment links before storing them. These details are seen only by:
- Outsourcea Finance staff, to verify them. Every time they view the full details is logged
- A client, and only for a payment request that Outsourcea Finance has approved: the client sees the details as they were when the request was approved, together with a unique payment reference. Every time a client views them is logged
Every change to payment details is verified again, and every admin of the company (or the provider) is notified of it. When a client pays, the date, method, transaction reference and any proof of payment they add are shared with the provider and Outsourcea Finance.
When you buy an Outsourcea service (a listing plan, a membership, a Featured placement or platform fees), you pay on a checkout page hosted by our payment processor, Stripe. Stripe processes your card and billing details under its own privacy policy, and we never see or store your full card number. We keep a record of each purchase (items, amounts, invoices, receipts and refunds) and of the payment terms, refund policy and subscription terms you accepted, with the time, IP address and browser used. Stripe is not used for project payments between clients and providers.
We use cookies and tracking tools to enhance your browsing experience, understand user behavior, and improve our platform. These tools help us:
- Deliver personalized content
- Remember preferences
- Measure website performance
Users can manage cookie preferences through browser settings.
We implement industry-standard security measures including:
- Encryption
- Secure servers
- Access controls
However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. Users are encouraged to use strong passwords and report any suspicious activity.
You have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal data
- Choose whether you receive newsletter and promotional emails: they are off unless you turn them on, and you can turn them off again at any time
- Turn off sharing your activity with providers in your Preferences
- Restrict certain processing activities
